Prep football: West Hancock rolls in Rockford

ROCKFORD — West Hancock junior runningback Colton Francis entered Friday’s game in Rockford with 555 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns.
The first score of the game was a pick-6 interception run. West Hancock’s Dylan Echols ran it in from the 32 yard line.
From there, Francis was the workhorse for the Eagles, pounding the Rockford defense over and over again. Individual statistics for West Hancock were not immediately available after the game, but the Eagles had 427 rushing yards in the end.
The Eagles led by 39 at the end of the first quarter on the way to a 65-6 victory over the Warriors
Rockford’s lone score was a 14-yard touchdown pass from Zach Bushbaum to Tanner Grady. It topped off Rockford’s second-longest drive of the night, 50 yards in five plays.
Bushbaum ended the night with 184 passing yards on 18 completions in 42 attempts. He was sacked six times and intercepted three. His longest completion was for 32 yards to Weston Engels.
Grady had 13 receptions for 116 yards. His longest reception was for 29 yards.
Kaden Lyman was the only other Warrior with more than one catch. He had three for 16 yards. Wesley Johnson had one catch for 22 yards.
The Warriors are 0-7 on the year and travel to Sheffield next week to take on West Fork, which defeated North Butler 52-2 Friday.
