Sindlinger named IIAC Female of the Week

DECORAH — On Monday, the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) announced that Luther College freshman volleyball player Jamie Sindlinger has been named Female Athlete of the Week.

The Norse outside hitter and Charles City graduate helped Luther go 3-1 at the Pikes Peak Challenge in Colorado Springs last weekend which included 3-0 match wins over No. 12-ranked Eastern University (Pa.) and No. 23-ranked Millikin. Sindlinger was named to the all-tournament team of the Pikes Peak Challenge.

Earlier last week, Sindlinger helped the Norse stay atop their conference by recording 14 kills and a .379 hitting percentage in a 3-0 shutout of Coe.

Madrid, Spain resident Gonzalo Hernandez was named IIAC Male Athlete of the Week after helping the University of Dubuque men’s soccer team earn wins over Luther and Central.
