CHARLES CITY — On Tuesday, Tiffany Meyer signed to continue her cross country career at North Iowa Area Community College.

Don’t tell her this, but NIACC CC coach Curtis Vais has other plans for her.

“We’re hoping to get her to run track for us, also,” said Vais, who also leads the Trojans’ track program.

The Charles City senior is currently running track for the Comets this spring, serving as a reliable utility athlete for a variety of run distances and relay teams.

This past fall, Meyer was a member of the Comet girls cross country team, which made school history by placing third at the state meet last fall.

“I got a chance to see her run,” Vais said. “She’s a very strong runner. I feel she has a good chance to be a top 5 or 7 runner for us.”

Meyer has been running cross country and track since the seventh grade.

“I’m excited,” Meyer said of the opportunity to run for the Trojans.

Meyer plans to study physical therapy at NIACC.
