DECORAH — The Charles City Comets girls basketball went into the Class 4A Region 2 Girls Basketball Tournament with a winless record.

But of the games the Comets were competitive for four quarters, two of them were against their first-round opponent — Decorah.

However, by coming out of the gate with court-opening press, the Vikings made sure the game was going to be more or less decided by halftime as the took a 28-6 lead at intermission before advancing in a 57-32 final.

Decorah will face Waverly-Shell Rock in the semifinals, 7 p.m. Saturday. The Go-Hawks received a first-round bye.
