Press Staff Report

Charles City junior Jodie Sindlinger and senior Payton Reams were among the players honored with All-Northeast Iowa Conference team selections.

Sindlinger was named to the second team after leading the Comets in scoring (9.1 ppg) and rebounding. She also led the team in free throws attempted (93) and made (61) while shooting better than 65 percent, which also led the team based on attempting more than six free throws.

Many of Sindlinger’s scoring opportunities came from entry passes from point guard Reams, who led the Comets in assists (70) and was second to Sindlinger in rebounds.

Reams, who was the recipient of the Amy Boley Heiter Memorial Scholarship Award given to a graduating senior who best exemplifies the inspired play from the late Comet star and who has chosen to study to become an educator, was named to the All-NEIC honorable mention team.
