Charles City senior and four-time State Cross Country Meet qualifier Gavin Connell has made the top three in nomination votes for the I AM SPORT Award.
The award is presented by Mediacom, and it honors high school student athletes who are committed to giving back to the youth in their communities.
Connell advanced to the “Final Three” by garnering the top three amount of online votes from the list of other nominees.
The three finalists are invited to attend the Des Moines Register Sports Awards ceremony, June 23 at Wells Fargo Arena where the ultimate I AM SPORT winner will be announced.
