Comet boy bowlers improve to 9-0 with dual meet win over Indians
Press Staff Report
FOREST CITY — It was “Super Bowl Friday” for the Charles City Comets bowling teams as they took on Forest City at the Indians’ home house — the Super Bowl.
Despite Forest City boasting the top two bowlers in last Friday’s dual — Gage Juhl (434) and Jordan Trunkhill (420) — that wasn’t enough to prevent the Comet boys from improving to 9-0 this season with a winning team pinfall of 2,853 that bested FC by 256 pins.
Comet freshman Keaton Ross paced his team for the first time during his budding varsity career with a two-game individual total of 405. Cael Bohlen (385), Landon Luft (383), Jackson Cook (345) and Kaleb Cotton (335) rounded out the scoring for Charles City.
Forest City won the girls dual 2,412 to 2,336 with Chiara Thompson leading the way with a 433 two-game individual series.
Helping compile the Comets’ team score were Claire Girkin (384), Imigin McHenry (325), Polina Phillippova (314), Sofia Nelson (303) and Ragan Hintgen (291).
The Comet girls are now 7-2.
