WAUKON — Charles City sophomores Shelby Effle and Claire Girkin tied for 13th place among individuals during Monday’s Northeast Iowa Conference Girls Golf Meet with 18-hole scores of 119, thus earning All-Conference honors.

Senior Brinn Lahr, who was an All-Conference golfer last season, placed 2 strokes outside the Top 15 with a score of 122; and sophomore Olivia Kreger shot a 134 to round out the scoring for the Comets, whose total (494) placed them third in the six-team field.

New Hampton and Waverly-Shell Rock both shot team scores of 406, but with Lauren Nuss’s Chickasaw-leading score of 92 being 1 stroke lower than WSR’s top shooter Brenna Bodensteiner for medalist honors, New Hampton was determined as the meet’s champs.
