Bearcats advance to Class 1A Boys Golf State Championships
After winning their sectional tournament and then placing second at the Class 1A Boys Golf District Tournament at Spring Valley Golf Course on Monday, the North Butler Bearcats — consisting of Sean Mathers, Nolan Reser, Mitchell Staudt, Dylan Shirah, Aiden Gotto and Avery Boos have advanced to the Class 1A Boys Golf State Championships to take place May 23 and 24 at Ames Golf and Country Club.

LIVERMORE — By way of their second-place team finish at the Class 1A Boys Golf District Tournament held Monday at Spring Valley Golf Course, the North Butler Bearcats advance to the State Golf Championships.
With senior Sean Mathers and freshman Nolan Reser both shooting 18-hole scores of 82 which tied them for fourth among individuals, and seniors Mitchell Staudt and Dylan Shirah both shooting 88s, the Bearcats’ team total of 340 was only bettered by Lake Mills (331).
Sophomore Garrett Ham (74) and senior Bennett Berger (75) earned medalist and runner-up medalist honors for the champion Bulldogs.
Newman Catholic’s Tim Castle (77) and Harris-Lake Park’s Brayden Perkins (83) advanced as individual.
The Class 1A Boys Golf State Championships will take place next Monday and Tuesday (May 23 and 24) at Ames Golf and Country Club.
