Jack Molstead joins Wartburg Knights’ 1,000-pt. club during 71-63 win over Dubuque

DUBUQUE — Wartburg senior guard Jack Molstead became the 35th Knight player to score 1,000 career points during Wednesday’s 71-63 men’s college basketball win over Dubuque on the road.

Molstead led his team with 22 points and grabbed six rebounds while helping Wartburg erase a 14-point deficit to win its third straight.

The Knights improved to 8-10 overall and 5-4 in the American River Conference. Dubuque fell to 13-6 and 6-4.

Molstead currently leads the Knights with a 17.2 points-per-game average.

Molstead was a first-team all-state player for Charles City, and graduated as the Comets’ all-time leader in scoring and assists.
