TUCSON, Ariz. — The weather is much hotter in Arizona — almost as hot as JJ Ritter’s bat.

During last week’s Tucson Invitational Games, the Bismarck State College baseball team went 9-1 to start off its spring season.

Charles City 2021 graduate Ritter, now a sophomore outfielder for the B.S. Mystics, hit .517 during the invite (15 for 29) while driving in 13 runs, scoring 10 runs and stealing three bases.

Ritter also drew four walks, which factored in to his .576 on-base percentage; and hit a pair of triples and doubled, which factored into his .690 slugging percentage.

Ritter was an All-Northeast Iowa Conference baseball and basketball player during his career as a Comet.

He was named “Comet Male Athlete of the Year” his senior year.
