Connell helps Cyclone women place 3rd at Big 12 T&F Championships

NORMAN, Okla. — Charles City 2021 graduate Kiki Connell recently helped the Iowa State Women’s Track and Field team place the highest (3rd) while scoring the most team points (107.5) in school history at the Big 12 Outdoor Track and Field Championships held May 12-14.

Connell scored 4 points for the Cyclones when she placed fifth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase while recording a time of 10 minutes, 29.97 seconds.

Placing ahead of Connell were Ceili McCabe of West Virginia (10:12.79), Lona Lateran of Kansas (10:18.30), Janette Schraft of ISU (10:21.92) and Payton Hinkle of Oklahoma State (10:28.34).

Connell also competed in the 5,000-meter run and placed 15th (17:13.15) at the Big 12 meet.
