Comet grad Lilly Luft helps Hawkeye women’s wrestling team dominate Iowa Duals

IOWA CITY — Charles City 2023 graduate and four-time state high school girls champion Lilly Luft helped the second-ranked University of Iowa women’s wrestling team dominate Sunday’s Iowa Duals with a pair of 136-pound victories.

During the Hawkeyes’ 42-0 dual-meet win over Missouri Valley College, Luft earned an 11-0 technical fall victory against Aniseta Acosta.

During the following 35-6 victory over Life University — the top-ranked NAIA women’s team and defending NAIA national duals champion — Luft pinned Zaynah McBryde 1:42 into their match.

The Hawkeyes (19-1) will travel to Fort Wayne (Ind.) this Friday to compete in the Indiana Tech Warrior Duals and Open Tournament.
