Comets to host Center Point-Urbana in Substate opener next Monday

As the No. 2-seed in the Class 3A-Substate 3 boys basketball bracket, the Charles City Comets will host No. 7-seed Center Point-Urbana in the first round next Monday (Feb. 19) at Comet Gym. Tip-off is at 7 p.m.
The bracket also includes top-seed and No. 2-ranked Decorah, No. 3-seed Hampton-Dumont-CAL (Comets will host the Bulldogs on Thursday to cap the regular season), No. 4-seed Dubuque Wahlert, No. 5-seed Western Dubuque, No. 6-seed Independence and No. 8-seed Western Delaware.
The semifinals are scheduled for the following Thursday (Feb. 22); the finals are scheduled for Feb. 26.
