Comets to hold ‘Glow Rally’ to showcase winter sports next Monday (Nov. 25)

CHARLES CITY — In an event to showcase the winter sport season at Charles City, a “Comets Glow Rally” will take place next Monday (Nov. 25) starting at 7 p.m. in the Comet Gym at Charles City Middle School.
The glow-in-the-dark pep rally which will incorporate black lights to help illuminate the gym with surreal colors is the successor of the “Black and Orange Blowout” that annually kicked off the winter sports season.
Fans of all sports are encouraged to come decked out in neon colors and bring their favority glow-in-the-dark accessories.
Members from Charles City’s boys and girls basketball programs, boys and girls bowling programs, and boys and girls wrestling programs will be formally introduced and featured in an array of scrimmages and skill-displaying exhibitions.
The event will kickoff with crowd-engaging activities led by the Charles City Spirit Team followed by a vibrant glow dance performanct by the Charles City Dance Arts Center.
There will be a DJ at the Glow Rally, for which attendance is free but fans are asked to bring a non-perishable food iten to help support the local food pantry.
