CC/NP/RRMR trap team shooting at state meet this week

CEDAR FALLS — The Charles City/Nashua-Plainfield/Rudd-Rockford-Marble Rock trap shooting team is competing at the Scholastic Clay Target Program Iowa State Meet this week at the Cedar Falls Gun Club.
The three-school team is scheduled to shoot in the standard high school competition on Sunday.
Several members have already competed at the state meet this week, which included intermediate (junior high) and handicap (firing line is 19 yards from the trap house, back from the standard 16 yards).
Top shooters for the Nashua-Plainfield No. 1 squad in handicap included Lane Barlow, who hit 91 out of 100 targets from 19 yards; and Hunter Brase (90 out of 100), who recently received the TJ Houdek Memorial Scholarship at the team’s awards banquet.
Top handicap shooters from Charles City’s No. 1 squad include Hunter Boehmer (90) and Tate Demro (89).
