Comet softball team defeats Indians 14-1 in five innings

WAUKON — Charles City eighth-grader Lexan Joslin yielded five hits and 1 earned run in five innings while leading the Comet softball team to a 14-1 five-inning victory over Northeast Iowa Conference rival Waukon last Thursday.
Senior leadoff hitter Emerson Bohlen was 4 for 4 with 3 runs scored — Bohlen also stole three bases in as many attempts; senior Mya Rimrod was 3 for 4 with an RBI; and senior Brooklyn Molitor was 2 for 4 with a double and 3 RBIs for the Comets (7-7, 2-2 NEIC), who will host Decorah on Tuesday.
