Emerson Bohlen named to All-District Softball Team
Press photo by John Burbridge Charles City senior center fielder and leadoff hitter Emerson Bohlen was named Iowa Girls Coaches Association Class 4A All-Northeast District Softball Team — the lone Comet to receive the honor. Bohlen led the Comets in a bevy of categories, including hits (42), runs (31), walks (18), batting average (.442), on-base percentage (.530) and stolen bases (25 out of 28 attempts). Earlier this month, Bohlen was one of six Comets named to the final All-Northeast Iowa Conference Softball Team. Bohlen was named to the All-NEIC First Team after being an All-NEIC Second Team selection last season. Bohlen lettered all four years while playing for her father, Comet head coach Brian Bohlen, who reached his 500th coaching win early in the 2024 season with his daughter — then a junior — in the starting lineup.
