Sens. Wilhelm, Hogg tour damaged roads of Floyd County

A tree stands in a creek, next to Dogwood pavement and gravel swept away by floodwaters from last week in rural Floyd County.
Floyd County Supervisor Roy Schwickerath gives Senators Rob Hogg and Mary Jo Wilhelm a brief tour of the county's road damages and the type of recovery work that needs to be done.
Schwickerath and Sen. Wilhelm stand on the deceptively damaged 280th Street, now closed. The road may appear intact to drivers, Schwickerath said, but the culvert has been completely washed out and the road undermined beneath the surface, risking collapse if heavy harvest machinery or trucks drove over the street.
