Sewing up style

Sydney, 13, sews up a seam during a Thursday workshop at the Floyd County Iowa State Extension Office. Sydney was one of eight students learning basic sewing techniques while working on pajama pants.

Drew, 14, is guided by volunteer Sue Heitbrink as he sews together legs for his pajama pant project.

Kylie, 10, sews a pant leg with the help of Holly Connor, owner of Stitches Fabric and Yarn Shop in Charles City.
