Starla Kay Tindell

Starla Kay Tindell, 61, of Floyd passed away on Jan. 10, 2021.

Starla was born on Aug. 16, 1959, in Charles City, Iowa, to Grace Jerdee and Harold (Joby)Tindell.

Starla shared the last great years of her life with her significant other “Fuzzy” Darrell Hollander on their country property outside of Floyd. She spent considerable time canning produce from her prized vegetable farm, taking care of the farm cats, and finding new and creative ways to improve on her already amazing cooking recipes. She spent a considerable amount of her time around friends and family, including her two children, Amber Tynan and Spencer Elthon, and her grandchildren Devin, Madison, and Nathan Hansen, as well as Samuel and Owen Elthon.

Starla was the fourth child of five, born after Duane (Ilene) Jerdee, Dennis Jerdee, Nancy (Lonnie) Knapp, and then before Randy (Sandy) Tindell.

Visitation for Starla will be Friday, Jan. 15, from 5-7 p.m. at the Hauser/Weishaar Funeral Home in Charles City, IA. The memorial service will be made exclusive to family due to COVID concerns, but will be live-streamed on the Hauser/Weishaar Facebook page at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 16.
