Fair opens today with judging and more

The Floyd County Fair kicks off today (Tuesday) with non-livestock category judging throughout the afternoon then the Little Miss Floyd and Little Mr. Floyd contest in the evening.

Throw in a dog and other pet show, 4-H Hall of Fame and 4-H Fashion Show and Fair Week is off to a strong start.

Here is the schedule for Tuesday and Wednesday:

TUESDAY

Noon – Agronomy Comments.

Noon – Judging for Non-Livestock starts in Youth Enrichment Center.

5:30 p.m. – Dog and Pet Show.

7:30 p.m. – Little Miss Floyd and Mr. Floyd Contest, Brick Building.

7:30 p.m. – Hall of Fame, Share the Fun/Extemporaneous Speaking, 4-H Fashion Show.

WEDNESDAY

• Food stand open 8 a.m.-8 p.m.; Exhibit Hall open 9 a.m.-9 p.m.; Business and Vender Expo 5-8 p.m.; midway 5-9 p.m.; food trucks 5-9 p.m.; pony rides 5-7 p.m.; petting zoo 5-9 p.m.; beverage garden 5-9 p.m.

1 p.m. – Horse Show

1-3 p.m. – Clover Kid Make-And-Take At The Fair, YEC

5-10 p.m. – 15 and older Co-Ed Sand Volleyball.

5 p.m. – The Bengal Tiger Encounter.

6 p.m. – Bar/Cookie, Cake/Cupcakes and Pie Baking Contest, in Brick Building.

7 p.m. – The Bengal Tiger Encounter.
