FLOYD COMMUNITY CENTER AND COMMUNITY ACTIVITY SCHEDULE: Dec. 12 – Santa Claus coming to the Community Center at 10 a.m. Sponsored by the Floyd Lions Club.

Dec. 13 – Early Bird Bingo, 1 p.m. sharp! Regular Bingo at 1:30 p.m.

Dec. 15 – Gospel Lighthouse basketball game with CC; Council meeting at 6 p.m. at City Hall.

Dec. 19 – Heit Christmas Party.

The Floyd City Council Meeting was held on Nov. 17, 2015 at 7 p.m. at the City Hall. Mayor, Trevis O’Connell, opened the meeting with motion to approve consent agenda. All in favor. Motion to approve recind Chapter 7 Industrial Property Tax exemptions to start the process of issuing an ordinance. All In favor. Contract for Tracy Schriever to clean the Community Center approved. All in favor. The meeting for December Council will be at 6 p.m. with Christmas Party for Council and city workers following. Motion as made to give Lauri a $1.50 raise and David $1 raise beginning 20162017 Fiscal year The mayor also stated that David has saved the City money by fixing the roads and the water main break himself. Thank you David.

Motioned of $300 for clothing allowance for 20162017 for David. Discussed equipment needed and projects to be done for next fiscal year budget. Council decided for Clerk, Laura Reetz, to set aside $6,000. for the use of equipment/projects that come up. Possibly will be redoing the ordinance book will be put on next agenda.

Discussed Fire and Law enforcement which cost will stay the same for 2016- 2017 fiscal year. Dave Paulus was elected for new council member. Cleone King and Merlin Holtz were re-elected for Council. Congratulations. The Mayor was re-elected also.

Want to put a thank you in to Jerry Peters for representing the Town of Floyd since June 16, 1981. He put 34 years in to being a council member.

The last council meeting in October discussed the petition against the truck route on 3rd Avenue.
