Spaghetti and a chance to help Charles City students visit Germany were on the menu Thursday evening at the Charles City High School.

The German American Partnership Program (GAPP) held a fundraiser dinner with silent and live auctions to raise funds to support a 2018 exchange trip to  Walsrode, Germany.

Dozens of items made by students were available for silent bid, then auctioneer Greg Miller began selling group member student labor such as yard work and babysitting.

Marilyn Buttjer, the high school German teacher, said she was delighted with the way the evening came together. She said she especially wanted to thank parents Julie Marty and Lisa Cox for their help in organizing the event.
