Donald ‘Don’ Duane Rague

Donald “Don” Duane Rague, 86, passed away peacefully on Dec. 1, 2020 in Charles City, Iowa.

A private family service will be held with Pastor Steve Hansen from Trinity United Methodist Church officiating.  Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Charles City.

Don was born in Greene, Iowa on July 13, 1934, the second child for Bertha and Earle Rague. Don attended school in Greene and worked various jobs in his younger years.

Don met the love of his life, Phyllis Montgomery, and they were married Nov. 7, 1954 in Oakwood, Iowa. They were happily married for 63 years. They started their family in Greene and lived for a short period of time in Powersville and Cowell and then finally made their home in Charles City in 1980.

Don provided for his family by working over 30 years at White Farm. During that time they welcomed six children into this world, Donna, Rick, Bob, David, Jeanie, and Mark.

Don is preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Rague; his son, David Rague; his parents, Earle and Bertha Rague; his brothers: Gene and Roger; and his sister, Eloise O’Brien.

Surviving are his children: Donna Lynn Rague, Kansas City, Missouri; Rick and Sue Rague, Waconia, Minnesota; Bob Rague, Charles City; Jeanie Rague, Charles City; and Mark and Julie Rague, Jonestown, Texas; 12 grandchildren: Jason, Jessica, Lindsey, Ryan, Zachary, Dylan, Cassidy, Brittany, Alyssa, David, Avery, and Alex; and six great-grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family.
