Elinor Eggers

Elinor Eggers, 86, of Charles City, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2020 at the Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City.

A celebration of Elinor’s life will be held at a later date with inurnment at Sunnyside Memory Gardens in rural Charles City.

Elinor Ruth (Teepe) Eggers, the daughter of Edward and Pearl (Schoonmaker) Teepe, was born June 11, 1934 in Randalia, Iowa.  She attended school and graduated from Elma High School. Elinor worked various jobs in Charles City including the Theater and cleaning for a local hotel until she met her future husband, Ervin Eggers.

Elinor and Ervin were united in marriage on Sept. 17, 1954 and the couple made their home in Charles City. She was involved with the Ladies Auxiliary while Ervin worked at White Farm and raised their family.

Elinor enjoyed reading, completing crossword puzzles, assembling jigsaw puzzles and loved listening to country music (especially George Strait).

Elinor’s family would like to send their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Paul Royer and the nursing staff at Floyd County Medical Center for their loving care of Elinor.

Living family members include her son, Gene Eggers of Radcliffe; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters:  Janice Kobliska and Phyllis Fausnaugh; along with several nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Elinor was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ervin; son, Edward; two brothers: David Teepe and Raymond Teepe; and three sisters: Mabel Carmody, Joyce Meyerhoff and Sharon Lane.
