Arthur Hunt

Arthur W. Hunt Jr., 87, left this world on June 25, 2021 and joined the love of his life, his wife, Ruth Mary in heaven. Art was born Jan. 11, 1934 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the second child of Arthur Sr. and Myrtle Hunt. Later the family would make their way to Charles City where Art attended school. Art had many stories of camping and living off the land as a young boy that we enjoyed hearing about. He graduated from the Charles City High School in 1952. Art met the love of his life, Ruth Mary Hagarty and they were married in 1957 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Charles City. Art was in the National Guard. He had fond memories of wrestling tournaments and winning trophies in the National Guard. Art worked many years at Oliver Tractor/White Farm Equipment and always had a part-time job of installing carpet.  Hard work was a hobby for Art. He always had a project or two going. Art and Ruth both loved their place in the country and creating a home there for their family.

Art is predeceased by his wife, Ruth, his son, Doug, parents, Arthur Sr. and Myrtle Hunt, brother, Richard (Dick), sister, Phyllis and brother-in-law, Mike Biekert, nephew, Jerry Biekert and brother-in-law, Jack Brimer.

Art is survived by his son, Daniel Hunt and his wife, Shannon, daughter, Maddison Hunt of Rogers, MN. His daughter, Denise and her husband, Harvery Enerson, son, Nicholas Enerson and his wife, Alicia of Hammond, WI, and daughter, Ashley and husband, Sam Horak of Lakeville, MN. His son, David Hunt and wife, Amy of Charles City, son, Stephen Hunt of Charles City, daughter, Emily and husband, Dustin Murray of Floyd, and daughter, Amanda Hunt of Waterloo, Iowa, daughter, Amanda Olson, Northwood, IA, son, Jesse Olson, of Northwood, IA. His daughter, D’Anne and husband, Ali Khazraeinazmpour of St. Joseph, MO, sons, Zaal Khazraeinazmpour of Columbia, MO and Zackariah Khazraeinazmpour of Lawrence, KS. His great grandchildren, Carter, Rory, Mabel Horak, Miles and Maisey Enerson, Brilynn Hunt, Grayson and Adalynn Ruth Murray and Paisley Olson.

Art is also survived by his sister Gloria Brimer of Fountain Hills, AZ and sister-in-law, Gordetta Hunt of Rockford, IA and numerous nieces and nephews.

Art and Ruth’s Celebration of Life was on June 26, 2021 at Immaculate Conception Church.
