Linda Litterer

Funeral Services for Linda Litterer, 74, of Greene will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2021 at St. John Pleasant Hill Church with Pastor Drew McHolm officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, rural Nashua, Iowa.

Visitation will be 5–7 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 8, 2021 at Retz Funeral Home, 519 N. First St. Greene, Iowa.

Linda was born on May 12, 1947 in Charles City, the daughter of Lawrence Raymond and Annette Lois (Smith) Krumrey and entered into eternal rest, surrounded by her loving family, on Aug. 3, 2021 at the Cedar Valley Hospice House in Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Iowa. She received her education in public school and graduated from Charles City High School.

Linda was united in marriage to Merlin Litterer on July 31, 1965 at St. John Lutheran Church in Charles City. This union was blessed with three children, Shellie, Travis, and Katie. She worked as a cook/waitress for years and later at the Greene Nursing Home. Linda enjoyed reading, sewing, dancing, and playing cards.

Linda was a faithful member of St. John Pleasant Hill Church in rural Nashua. There she made her talents available to accommodate many projects over the years and helped on the funeral dinner committee. She was a kind, loving mother and grandmother whose focus in life was her family. Her biggest pride and joy was her great-grandchildren.

She will be sadly missed by her loving husband of 56 years, Merlin Litterer; her children: Shellie (Craig) Olson, Campbellsport, WI; Travis (Tammy) Litterer, Greene; Katie (Thomas) O’Loughlin, Independence, IA; 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren: Justin (McKennah) Litterer and children Lynlee and Ryker; Nathan Olson; Ethan (Zoe Lee) Bidwell and child Mia; Ashley Olson; Elijah Bidwell and Aaron Olson; step siblings: Barbara (Ron) Rice, Mason City, IA; Janet (Bill) Vokes, Floyd, IA; April (Jeff) Rusch, Brighton, CO; Millard (Patti) Smith, Frederick, CO; brother-in-law Harley Lovik; special friends Ellen Reints, Jane Wihlm and Mary Jo Stille; nieces, nephews, and friends.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, her step-father Willis Smith, her sister Barbara; brother Robert, sister-in-law Kathy, step sister Nancy and parents-in-law.
