Rachel Vincent

Rachel M. Vincent, 86, of Sumner and formerly of Marble Rock, died Thursday, Aug. 12, 2021, at the Hillcrest Home in Sumner.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, Aug. 16, 2021, at 3 p.m. at the Hillcrest Chapel in Sumner with Deacon Mike Schemmel officiating. Visitation will precede the service at the Hillcrest Chapel on Monday starting at 2 p.m. Memorials may be made in Rachel’s name to the Hillcrest Home in Sumner or St. Croix Hospice. Rachel Mae, daughter of Bernard and Audrey (Schultz) Baldwin, was born May 23, 1935, at the family’s home rural Marble Rock, Iowa. She was baptized in the Methodist Faith and received her education in the Marble Rock Schools. Rachel married Ivan Ray Stock, and to this union six children were born, Randy, Roger, Craig, Brian, Brenda, and Dana. The couple would later divorce. Rachel worked as a cook in different restaurants over the years, Cobe Laboratory for many years, and was a homemaker. Rachel was united in marriage with Robert Selby Vincent. To this union a daughter was born, Shelly. The family lived in Denver, Colorado for several years and also spent time in Arizona. Rachel loved her time in Colorado, enjoying the beautiful scenery and mountains. Following Robert’s death in 1982, the family returned to Marble Rock in 1984. Rachel enjoyed board games with her family, crossword puzzles, puzzles, had barrel racing horses, was a voracious reader, bowling (was involved in a work bowling league for many years), and enjoyed listening to music. In her later years, she lived in Clarksville, Dumont, and Tripoli, until moving to the Hillcrest Home in Sumner in 2015.

Rachel is survived by her children, Randy (Jeanine) Stock of Westminster, Colorado, Brian (Brittnie) Stock of Thornton, Colorado, Brenda (John Weldon) Stock of Mount Vernon, Iowa, Dana (Amy Learn) Stock of Clarksville, and Shelly (Rob Henkel of DeSoto, Wisconsin) Dillon of Sumner; grandchildren whom she raised like her own children, LaToya and Craig Stock; many other loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Roger and Craig Stock; and siblings.
