Irene Field

Irene Field, 91, of Charles City, passed away, Monday Aug. 16, 2021 at the Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City.

A funeral Mass for Irene Field will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 21, 2021 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Charles City with Reverend Tom Heathershaw officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Charles City.

A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service beginning with a rosary prayer at 9:15 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Saturday.

Irene Snyder Field, the daughter of Leonard and Ellen (Eustice) Snyder, was born on August 2, 1930 in Janesville, Minnesota. She graduated from Immaculate Conception High School in Charles City in 1948. On July 4, 1951, she was united in marriage to Paul Field.

Irene first started work at Gegen Drug Store, where she met Paul. She then worked for Oliver and later retired from Camp Pendleton Marine Base.

Irene was a very active member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and belonged to the Sacred Heart Guild. Irene enjoyed dancing with Paul, playing cards, going on walks, and collecting postcards. Above everything in Irene’s life, faith and family were the most important to her.

Living family members include her daughter, Paula (Doug) Molin; sons: Jeff (Ruth), Jon (Heather), Joe (Kirsten), and Jay (Laurie); daughter-in-law, Lisa Field; 29 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul Field in 2013; son, James; siblings: Paul in infancy, Pat (Ray) Apel, Bonnie (Wes) Banks, Joe (Marian) Snyder, and Anne (Woody) Aldridge.
