Charges expected in connection with car egging incidents

By Kelly Terpstra, kterpstra@charlescitypress.com

Charles City Police Chief Hugh Anderson said charges will be filed sometime this week in connection with the numerous car egging incidents that have happened recently in Charles City.

Anderson said after working on leads and information, the investigation opened up last weekend as his department was able to identify multiple suspects. Anderson would not identify those suspects other than to say charges will soon be filed against the alleged involved parties.

According to social media, especially Facebook, egging incidents have occurred at points all over town. One post indicated a sheriff’s squad car had been one of the cars that was egged, along with several other vehicles located near the Floyd County Courthouse.

Social media posts have mentioned that other “eggings” have taken place in the town of Floyd.
