Prichard to host listening posts Saturday

The public is invited to meet with Iowa Rep. Todd Prichard, D-Charles City, for listening posts in Fredericksburg, New Hampton and Nashua on Saturday morning.

Prichard, the Iowa House minority leader, encouraged people to attend and share their thoughts on the upcoming 2020 Iowa legislative session.

The meeting in Fredericksburg will start at 9:15 a.m. at the Upham Memorial Library. The meeting in New Hampton will be at the New Hampton Public Library, starting at 10:30 a.m.

At noon, Prichard will meet with people at the Nashua Welcome Center.

Prichard, who owns Prichard Law Office in Charles City, was chosen as minority leader when the House Democratic caucus met before the legislative session last year. He represents Iowa House District 52, which consists of Floyd, Chickasaw and the eastern third of Cerro Gordo counties.

Prichard was unopposed in the 2018 election, and served his fourth term in the Iowa House last year. As minority leader, he is the chief spokesperson for the party on issues, and assigns Democratic members to committees. He is also the political leader for the Iowa House Democrats.
