Minor injury in two-vehicle collision on Clark Street in Charles City

A two-vehicle accident that occurred a little before 9 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, resulted in minor injuries for one of the drivers and a citation for failure to yield.

According to the Charles City Police Department incident report, a silver 2002 Chevrolet Impala driven by Keith Bleile, 32, of Charles City was eastbound on Clark Street when he failed to yield on a left turn and struck a tan 2008 Dodge Caliber driven by Aavanna Weipert, 35, of Charles City which was heading westbound on Clark Street.

Bleile was cited for failure to yield on a left turn, a simple misdemeanor, according to the police report. One subject was taken to the Floyd County Medical Center by ambulance for minor injuries.

Estimated damage to Bleile’s vehicle was $2,500. Estimated damage to Weipert’s vehicle was $4,000, the police report said.
