New school, new town

New teachers and administrators in the Charles City School District were introduced to the community in a unique way on Thursday, as they were divided into groups and put on a scavenger hunt. Stops during the hunt were at the Charles City Chamber Office, Central Park, Riverside Park, Aromas, KCHA, Victory Park, Whitewater Park, the Charles City Press, the Charles City Historical Museum and the YMCA. There are 12 new teachers in Charles City this year. New teacher days in the school district took place Wednesday and Thursday this week, with the rest of the staff joining them Friday for professional development. The first day of school with students will be next Thursday, Aug. 23.
