180108_J_Hicks obitAllan Eugene Hicks, (smiley) 69 of Belton MO formally Charles City died December 30.

Allan was born on September 14, 1948 to William and Viva Hicks. He attended Charles City schools graduating in 1966. After High School he served in the United States Army for two years during the Vietnam conflict.

He was a Deputy Sheriff in Cresco, lA after which he moved to Oklahoma studying Computer Drafting at Oklahoma- State University and’ Computer Science at Ef R’eno·Jr Cof!E:!ge grad’uating in· 1983: Allan was a very active family man, golfer, fisherman and enjoyed visiting the casino. He was a deeply caring person spending time helping his family and friends. In his younger days he loved riding horses, playing baseball and was the Drum Major for the Charles City Band. Allan was an active member and past Post Commander of the VFW in Belton, MO. Allan was an avid supporter of the Kansas City Chiefs and the Kansas City Royals.

He is survived by his Son Kevin (Tonya) Hicks, Charles City, Tammy (Mikey) Hicks-Jones, Belton MO, Stepdaughter Christina Nunn, Belton MO, Step-son Jim (Melanie) Nunn Camano Island WA, Half- sister Marilyn Toncoff CO, Half- sister Beverly (Bobby) Wolff Charles City lA, 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews and his cat Fawnz.

Proceeded in death by his parents, grandparents, 1 brother, 5 half-brothers, 1 half- sister, 3 nephews, 3 nieces and 3 great nieces.

Visitation and services will be held at McGilley and George Belton Chapel in Belton MOon January 13th starting at 1pm. Reception luncheon following services at the VFW Post in Belton. Graveside service will be held at a later date. For more information go to www.mcgilleygeorgebelton.com
