Summer is the busy season for magicians. That means Eric Michaels is on the road a lot to perform his magic shows for all ages.
“We adapt each show to fit our audience at hand,” said Michaels, from Janesville, who has been performing magic for 15 years and who stopped by the Charles City Public Library to entertain kids and adults on Wednesday.
“We do a lot of fairs, festivals, city celebrations,” he said, as well as parties and theater shows. He was one of the acts at the Floyd County Fair last year.
“We’ve got lots of kids tricks and audience involvement with the show,” said Michaels.
He said his inspiration to become a magician started when he saw a TV special featuring one of Las Vegas’ most famous magicians – Lance Burton.
Michaels’ show was part of “All Wonderful Wednesdays,” one of the Charles City Library summer reading programs.
On Wednesday, July 10, the 1 to 2 p.m. show will be by the Grout Museum, which will put on a program titled “Bubbles.”
