Charles City Chautauqua cere centers celebrate Skilled Nursing Care Week

The 9th Street and 11th Street Chautauqua care facilities in Charles City celebrated National Skilled Nursing Care Week recently with special theme days.
Dara Mahlstedt, activities director, said the two homes had each department choose a day and come up with the theme, food and activities, “ so everyone was included in the fun.”
National Skilled Nursing Care Week was May 15-19.

The Iowa Association of Track Coaches named Charles City senior Nick Williams Academic All-State for the 2024 cross country season.
Criteria includes a grade-point-average of at least 3.8 and to have qualified for the State Cross Country Championships or finish in the top 30 in the state-qualifying meet.
With a sixth-place 5K time of 16 minutes, 22 seconds at the most-recent SQ, Williams qualified for state four the fourth-straight year while his PR placed him 28th amid the Comets' Top 50 Male XC times.
Williams and fellow Comet four-time state-qualifier Xander Graeser will run in Class 3A boys race at State on Friday (Nov. 1) at 11:15 p.m. at Kennedy Park in Fort Dodge.
