Why did the turtle cross the road?

This fearless turtle had more than the heat to worry about on Thursday. While making a perilous crossing across Main Street late Thursday morning, the turtle received some assistance from a passing motorist, who carried it off the road and into the grass of Mill Race Park.

Just a few hours later, the turtle was found back on the street, taking a nap on the shady pavement along Riverside Drive.

The turtle was relocated a second time, this time even closer to the Cedar River, but motorists and pedestrians would be wise to keep an eye out just in case this rebellious reptile gets lost again.
