She moved to Washington, DC, after high school and worked for the FBI. She met her future husband, the late MSGT Clayton E. Lyons, at a halloween party in DC. In 1970, she moved to Germany with her husband and two daughters and started working for the Dept. of Defense. After her husband’s Germany tour, they moved back to Alexandria, VA, where she continued working for the Dept. of Defense until retirement.

During retirement, she and her husband built their dream home in Annapolis on the Chesapeake bay. After retirement, she continued to be active, working part-time at Best Connection travel, which gave her the opportunity to travel to many countries. Her favorite was Singapore.

She was also on the Art’s Committee at Quiet Water’s Park in Annapolis, MD, where she won many awards for her service. She loved watching her two grandson’s take sailing lessons at SSA and race in local regattas. She hardly missed her early morning walks with her lady friends in the neighborhood, enjoyed her Pilates and yoga workout at the Senior Center. Gardening was another pastime and she was a great cook in her early days.

Her family will miss her dearly. As well as David Sunshine, of Sunshine Cares, LLC who was at our mother’s side for 2½ years. He was instrumental in making her life a special one.

She is survived by her two daughters, Tamra Miller and Terra Lyons, son in-law, Glen R. Miller, DDS, two grandson’s, Evan Miller and Jordan Miller and two great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to: Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org; or to Hospice of the Chesapeake Foundation, John and Cathy Belcher Campus, 90 Ritchie Highway, Pasadena, MD 21122.
