CC boys’ A and B teams get win on the road

The 8th-grade boys traveled to Osage on Tuesday night only to come home with a win. The A-team came away with a win, 26-19. The Comets were led by John Sibuma with 13 points and two offensive rebounds; Tait Arndt with six points and seven rebounds. Mitz Concepcion added four points. It was a defensive battle the entire game.

“The boys did a pretty good job of following the game plan,” said head coach Brad Ritter. “Holding a very talented team to 19 points and our defensive intensity helped us get out and run when the opportunity was there.”

The Comets record improves to 2-0 on the young season.

The B-team played its first game of the year and came away with a win as well, 40-34. This game was close through out.

“As the game progressed, the boys got better with their defense” Ritter said.

“It helped us get out and run and attack the basket on the offensive end.”

Dawson Hinders led the team in scoring with 21 points, four rebounds and two steals. DaSean Taylor added 13 points, three rebounds, and six steals. Noah Reams had four points.

“I was really proud of everyone’s effort tonight.

Hopefully we can have the same effort the rest of the season, whether we win or lose,” Ritter said.

The Comets are next in action Dec. 14 at Waverly-Shell Rock for three games.
