Food bank plans Charles City distribution Wednesday, June 17

To The Press

The Northeast Iowa Food Bank mobile food pantry will be back in Charles City for a food distribution this week.

The distribution will be noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 17, at the Charles City High School parking lot.

Pastor Debi Lincoln, who runs the Messiah’s Food Pantry in Charles City, said it will run like the previous distributions from the Northeast Iowa Food Bank that have taken place in town.

“Do not get out of your cars,” she said. “Food will be placed in the opened trunk of your car,” and trunks should be cleaned out and ready to receive boxes of food.

Vehicles should line up along Salisbury Avenue, coming from Clark Street and 1st Avenue. Vehicles are asked to pull up at the end of the line and have no more than two households per vehicle.

Lincoln asked everyone to please have patience and to be kind to the volunteers.

Anyone who is currently out of work and needs food can attend, in addition to those who qualify by household income.

Delivery is set up for the elderly, the sick and those without transportation, but someone must be at the home to receive the food. Call Pastor Debi Lincoln at 641-257-1119 to arrange for this service.
