Volunteers from the Marine Corps League set up outside Theisen’s on Saturday, Nov. 25, to collect toys for the Toys for Tots campaign.

The toy drive was also supported by Mike Molstead Motors, which provided a pick-up truck for the volunteers to hopefully fill with donations.

“We appreciate the local support,” said Jan Stern as she and her fellow volunteers set up tables and put together gift bags to hand out to passing shoppers.

The Salvation Army helps with distribution of the collected toys, and applications to receive assistance from the Toys for Tots and Christmas Food campaign are available online at SAAngelTree.org. Distribution will take place by appointment on Dec 13-14.

“All the things collected here, and monetary donations, stay here,” said Stern. “We’re glad we can be able to do this and give back to the community.”
