Clarice Kuhn

Clarice Kuhn, 94, of Marshalltown, formerly of Charles City, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 26, 2020 at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown.

At this time, cremation rites have been accorded and a celebration of life will take place at a later date. Memorials in Clarice’s name may be directed to Trinity United Methodist Church in Charles City or Hope United Methodist Church in Marshalltown. Born Clarice Mae Bilharz on Dec. 14, 1926 in Osage, Iowa, she was the daughter of Lorenzo and Una (Covey) Bilharz. She grew up in Orchard, Iowa and graduated from Floyd High School in 1944. Clarice worked several years as an office manager at Oliver Farm Equipment Company and went on to be a salesperson at Spurgeon’s Department Store in Charles City. Clarice loved her Lord and Savior and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and attended Hope United Methodist Church when she moved to Marshalltown. In her free time she enjoyed camping, fishing and playing cards.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters: Marlys (Joe) Marrs of Mankato, MN, Janet (Tom) Weis of Marshalltown; stepdaughters: Shelli Farrell and Karen (Roger) Katz; grandchildren: Roy (Amanda) Marrs, Dolores (Chad) Swanson, Brianna (Matt) Yates and Lauren (Tyler) Goss and six great-grandchildren: Amber and Roland Marrs, Seth Swanson, Anthony and David Yates and Cora Goss.

Clarice is preceded in death by her husbands, her parents, daughter Joy, brother Dwight Bilharz and twin sisters at birth.
