Nancy Lynn (Smith) Johnson, the daughter of Carl and Dorothy (Shadboldt) Smith, was born on Oct. 9, 1947 in Charles City, Iowa. She attended punch key school after graduating from high school which allowed her to work with the Blackhawk Department of Transportation for a few years. Nancy loved working with all of the law enforcement officers.

Nancy enjoyed spending time with her family, shopping, traveling with Joe and their friends, shopping, playing board games with the granddaughters, going on her annual Christmas shopping trip with her sister, golfing, shopping, reading, watching Hallmark movies, Christmas baking, an overall enjoyment of life (Happiness is found along the way not at the end of the road.), daily diet Coke’s and fries from McDonald’s and shopping.

Nancy held a special place in her heart for the holidays with Thanksgiving being her favorite. She would have special ornaments each year at Christmas time and had special “touches” at every holiday. Her family will always remember her broken clock that started working the day she died, margaritas with chips n salsa, “Snap Chatting”, and the enjoyment of Peppermint Rum Chata.
