Frances Loomer

Frances G. Loomer (Sherman), 84, formerly of 202 10th Avenue Charles City, Iowa died Sunday, Feb. 27, 2022 at Heritage Senior Living Community in Muskego, Wisconsin.

Frances Loomer was born April 9, 1937 to John and Dorothy (Shippey) Sherman in Alexandria, Minnesota. The family moved to Charles City, Iowa in 1944.  Fran attended and graduated from Charles City High School in 1955.

Frances was united in marriage to John G. Loomer of Charles City, Iowa on Nov. 12, 1955 in St. Charles, Minnesota. The couple made their home in New Berlin, Wisconsin and were blessed with two boys: John (Charles City) and Mark (New Berlin, Wisconsin). Fran and John were divorced in 1986.

Frances worked hard at raising her two sons and managing her career as an Administrative Assistant for Universal Paper Corporation in New Berlin for over 20 years.

She was an excellent cook and enjoyed fishing, golfing, reading, crossword puzzles, playing bridge, growing flowers in her gardens and caring for a lifetime of pets, most notably her cat Harvey. Her later years were enjoyed by spending time with her seven wonderful grandchildren who she greatly adored.

She is survived by her brother Sheldon (Janice) Sherman of Charles City, Iowa, her sons John Loomer of Charles City, Iowa and Mark (Tanya) Loomer of New Berlin, Wisconsin and seven grandchildren: Anna, Daniel, John, Xavier, Kira, Cami, and Lexi Loomer.

She was preceded in death by her parents. Interment will be at Sunnyside Memory Gardens, Charles City, Iowa.
