Duane Clark

We are saddened to announce the passing of Duane John (Herbie) Clark, on Sept. 2, 2022, at the Mercy Hospice House, Mason City, Iowa, after a brief illness.

Duane graduated in 1980 from Osage. He grew up on his family’s chicken farm in Orchard, where he lived until the time of his death. Duane worked various jobs, farming with his family, the shoe store in Osage, and retiring from NcNeilus Steel in McIntire, Iowa.

Duane enjoyed his leisure time, TV, and his wife’s home cooking. He also enjoyed fishing, boating and collecting.

Duane had two daughters and six grandchildren, Melissa (Rob) Lotton, Miley and Jackson; Ashley (Troy) Hanson, Makayla, Karlie, Hayden and Halle Jo.

In August 2011 Duane married Valarie Koenigsfeld. They made Orchard their home and meant the world to each other. Step-children and grandchildren: Dale Keifer, Autumn, Kyle, Kaden, Kaylee and Karson; Delany (Tyler) Jacobs, Zane, Draven and Dahlia; Nina (Charlie) Rothmeyer, Liam.

Family members: Corleen (Gary) Counsell, Annette (Dan) User, Paul (Michelle) Clark, Kathy Wilkins, Jeanne (Dean) Kirk.

Duane was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Leon Clark and Delia Ann Helfter Clark.

Graveside funeral services will be held in the near future.
