Eric Dean Schriever

Eric Dean Schriever, 59, of Floyd passed away peacefully on Tuesday Dec. 19, 2023 in his home surrounded by his loved ones.

A funeral service for Eric Schriever will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 23, 2023 at the Gospel Lighthouse Church in Floyd with Pastor Paul Phillips officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Floyd.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 22, 2023 at Hauser Weishaar Funeral Home in Charles City and continue one hour before the service at the church on Saturday.

Eric was born on June 13, 1964 to Larry and Carol (Winters) Schriever in Charles City. Eric grew up in Elma alongside his 2 sisters. After Eric graduated from high school in Cresco in 1982, he went on to study diesel mechanics and pursued his career as a mechanic.

Eric worked as a mechanic for most of his life, owning Eric’s Riverside Repair and worked as a maintenance mechanic at various factories, ending his career at Zoetis. He was an avid outdoorsman, hunting and trapping anytime he could. Eric loved sharing his fondness of the outdoors with anybody who wanted to learn, especially his children. His favorite thing of all was being with his family and getting everybody together. Eric’s kindness and bravery was evident to anybody who knew him.

Eric met Tracy in Floyd in 1989 and they married in April of 1990. Eric and Tracy raised their kids in Floyd and Rockford. They shared many adventures together and an admirable love.

Eric put up a strong fight and is now with his Heavenly Father. He was brave until the end. There was a lot of love and laughter shared in his last days.

Eric is preceded by grandfather Gib Lacoste, grandmother Betty Lacoste, grandfather Louie Winters, and grandmother Gladys Winters, grandfather Benjamin Schriever, grandmother Genevieve Schriever, and brother-in-law Bradley Reetz.

He is survived by wife Tracy (Vokes) Schriever, parents Larry and Carol (Winters) Schriever, sisters Letti Schwake (Joel) and Laurie Reetz, children Christiana Gibbs (Brady), Brittany Parker (Trent), Jacob Schriever (Ashley), Bethany Bryant (Taylor), Kelly Schriever and 11 precious grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
