Charles City woman wins $10,000 on lottery scratch game

A Charles City woman won $10,000 recently on an Iowa Lottery scratch ticket game.

Jean Berding said she bought a $20 “Lucky Game Book” at Buy Low North in Charles City last Friday.

The lottery scratch ticket booklet has six different games on six pages, with prizes ranging from $20 to $100,000. Berding said one of the games won the $10,000 prize, which she has already verified and collected.

The Iowa Lottery lists the odds of winning the second-highest prize in the game booklet, $10,000, at 1 in 125,983.

Berding said she put some of the money in savings and is paying some bills.

She said she doesn’t buy scratch tickets often, just “sometimes.”

Asked if this is the biggest prize she has ever won, Berding said, “Yes, it’s the biggest one — and the last one!”

“I’m going to stop now,” she said.
