Buffalo Days are here again.

Nora Springs’ residents, get your party hats on.

Saturday will be buzzing with activity in the small town that straddles the Floyd-Cerro Gordo County Line along the Shell Rock River.

The 2019 version of Buffalo Days gets under way at 8:30 a.m. with the Buffalo Fun Run/Walk.

The annual parade starts at 10:30 a.m. Parade participants will congregate around the staging area near the middle school football field at 10 a.m. Parade organizer Bill Shafer said there are around 75 entrants in this year’s parade.

A large portion of the revenue generated from Buffalo Days will help fund the Nora Springs Fire Department and the Nora Springs Impact Group, formerly the Nora Springs Lions Club.

“It’s a lot happening in a small town during that time,” said Shafer, a social studies teacher at Central Springs High School in nearby Manly.

There’s also a car show that takes place from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Many of those cool cars in that show will cruise in the parade, according to Shafer.

There will be a ton of games for the kids to enjoy over in Boulder Park from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Inflatables, a kiddie train, kids tractor pull, kids water ball, as well as a craft show and plenty of food will all be available.

The Fireman’s Ball runs from 10:30 a.m. until midnight and features live music at the Fire Barn. Country singer Blake Spotts performs from 6-8 p.m. Classic rock cover band “Grin,” out of Clear Lake, takes the center stage from 8 p.m. until midnight.

The Nora Springs Impact Group also makes sure everyone gets fed with the Buffalo Feed from 11 a.m. to noon. Shafer said buffalo burgers are on the menu.

There’s also a bean bag tournament at the Fire Barn that starts at 11 a.m.

The new Mill Pond Pedestrian Bridge will also be dedicated at 9:30 a.m.
