William ‘Bill’ Boss

William “Bill” Boss, 88, of Charles City, passed away Monday, Nov. 27, 2017, at UnityPoint Health-Allen Hospital in Waterloo surrounded by his family.

A funeral Mass for Bill Boss will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 1, 2017, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Charles City with Reverend Gary Mayer celebrating the Mass. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Alta Vista.

Visitation will be at Hauser Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 30, 2017, with a Scripture Service beginning at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue one prior to the funeral Mass at the church on Friday.

Living family members include his wife of almost 63 years, Lola of Charles City; children: John (Sandy) Boss of Waterloo, Jeff (Carrol) Boss of Westminster, Colorado, Joe (Jill) Boss of Camanche, Janelle (Randy) Shores of Covington, Georgia and Jason (Amy) Boss of Mohnton, Pennsylvania; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Florence Krieger of North Carolina; two brothers: Robert (Patricia) Boss of California and Donald (Florence) Boss of Nashua; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and seven siblings.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations in Bill’s name to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus #1409 or a charity of the donor’s choice.
